This is an example of a typical betting line

These are the typical bets you can make: Runline, Moneyline (Win), and Over/Under (Total)

A Runline bet adds or subtracts runs from a team’s total. Here you can either add 1.5 runs to the Padres total or subtract 1.5 runs from the Dodgers total.

If you choose the Padres on a Runline bet, they can either win the game outright or lose by 1 run and you still win the bet. 1.5 runs will be added to their total.

Note: the (-155) are the odds. Meaning you’d have to risk $155 dollars to win $100 dollars.

If you choose the Dodgers on a Runline bet, they have to win the game by more than 1 run. 1.5 runs will be subtracted from their final score.

Note: the (+135) are the odds. Meaning you would win $135 dollars on a $100 dollar bet.

A Money Line bet picks the winner of the game. Here you’re picking the Padres to win with +127 odds. A $100 bet would win you $127 dollars. They are the underdog and expected to lose.

A Money Line bet picks the winner of the game. Here you’re picking the Dodgers to win with -147 odds. A $147 bet would win you $100 dollars. They are the favorites and expected to win.

Here’s an example of an Over/Under bet. An O/U bet counts the total number of runs scored in the game by both teams.

It doesn’t matter who wins or loses or which team scores the runs.

Pictured here is an Over 8 bet with -120 odds. You’d win $100 on a $120 bet. If the score of the game equaled exactly 8, that would be called a PUSH. You’d wouldn’t win or lose; you’d just get your money back.

This is an example of an Under bet with EVEN odds. That means you’d bet $100 to win $100.You’d be betting that the total amount of runs scored in the game would be less than 8.

A parlay, accumulator, combo bet or multi is a single bet that links together two or more individual wagers and is dependent on all of those wagers winning together. The benefit of the parlay is that there are much higher payoffs than placing each individual bet separately, since the difficulty of hitting all of them is much higher. If any of the bets in the parlay lose, the entire parlay loses. If any of the plays in the parlay ties, or "pushes", the parlay reverts to a lower number of teams with the odds reducing accordingly.

The best way to bet is at a Casino Sportsbook. However, that option isn’t always available to most people.Other options include finding a bookie to take your bet or using an Online Sportsbook like Bovada or 5dimes.

Above is a referral link to Bovada that’ll get you a sign-up bonus.

Strategy: My advice is start betting when you already have a bankroll; at least $2k.Never bet more than 5-10% of your entire bankroll on a single bet.Follow Gary’s picks exactly as he puts them out. Do not alter them at all. If you can’t get the exact odds or lines, just skip that bet. Some Sportsbooks will give different odds. Try to have multiple ways to bet. Most Sportsbooks will offer alternate lines.
